The items are part of the NICI GREEN product world, for which almost exclusively plush and fillers are used that are made from recycled materials.

Product information

The funny tenrec belongs to the family of hedgehogs and is native to the East African island of Madagascar. Soft toy tenrec Terek from the popular Wild Friends line is definitely hand-tame and cute to cuddle thanks to his long plush fur, lifelike fur pattern and color and his charming facial expression! What makes him special is his roll-up option, which turns Terek into a real plush ball. Terek is part of the NICI GREEN product world, for whose products plush and fillers made from recycled materials are almost exclusively used.

With Wild Friends, NICI is entering a new era: for the first time in the company's history, NICI will use almost exclusively plush and filling materials for this collection that are made from 100% recycled materials. For this purpose, old PET bottles in particular will be processed into RPET. The plush materials and fillers are then made from RPET. A big step towards sustainability! 

and this is how it works:

1. PET beverage bottles are collected after use. This prevents them from ending up in the trash or - even worse - in nature.
2. The PET bottles are crushed and processed into a granulate.
3. New yarn is spun from the granules. This is dyed and recycled into new plush webs.
4. Individual parts are cut out of the plush sheets, which are then sewn together and filled.
5. A new plush animal sees the light of day and delights the hearts of man and nature alike.

NICI Green is the sustainable product world of NICI! For all NICI Green products, recycled materials are used almost exclusively, mainly made from PET bottles.

NICI wants to treat nature's resources with care and contribute to preserving the planet for future generations. To this end, we have launched the "NICI Green" program. We are putting all our processes to the test and working on optimizing processes and the use of raw materials with a view to greater environmental protection. This affects many areas of the company: whether materials for production, packaging or operating premises: environmental protection is important to us.

NICI has set itself the task of gradually converting more and more product lines to "NICI Green". We are also driving the changeover at our suppliers here and are thus helping to make the entire value chain more environmentally friendly. In 2022, a large part of our products will be made from sustainable materials (especially recycled PET) and thus be allowed to carry the "NICI Green" label.
